Halloween is going to be even more fun this year with York Mumbler. I have been working with Emily at York Mumbler to create a fun, free Goblin trail at Rowntree Park for families in York this October half term.
When I set Yorkshire Brand Stories up I was keen to spend a portion of my week working on community led projects to enable me to give something back to my wonderful city of York.
In October 2020 families visiting Rowntree Park during half term can take part in our community Goblin trail and quiz to help the smelly green Goblin find his friends to help him remember his name.
My amazingly creative Mum has created a series of spooky themed Goblin houses for children to spot and collect clues to complete the trail. The original Goblin houses have been constructed using found materials and are brightly painted and decorated to stand out to children.
As well as the original trail at Rowntree Park, York Mumbler have created a free trail pack that local communities can access. Nurseries and community groups will be able to set up their own Goblin trail throughout October Half Term in parks, woods and green spaces to provide local families with a free, safe activity.
Our sponsor for the trail, Little Green Rascals, will also be hosting the community trail within their organic day nurseries for their children to enjoy throughout half term.
The project has been so exciting and rewarding to work on. From writing the press release to creating marketing materials and of course making the trail materials themselves. This project has enabled me to really exercise my creative brain cells, I am looking forward to taking my own children on the trail at Rowntree park to help them find where all those pesky Goblins are hiding!
